Another important point to note is that this nickel alloyed Monel UNS N04400 Square Bar is attacked in environments which contain sulfur bearing gases at a temperature range that falls above approximately 700° F. Similarly, molten sulfur attacks the Monel UNS No4400 rectangular bar in environments where the temperature can exceed above 500° F approximately.
Although Monel 400 Grade Cold Finished Bar offers about the same or similar resistance to corrosion as nickel but monel 400 round bar suppliers prefer this alloy due to the Monel 400 Nickel Hexagon Bars having a much higher maximum working pressure and temperatures, that too at a lower cost, which can be attributed to its superior ability to be machined.
Monel N04400 Hot Rolled Bar can easily be welded by any one of the following methods i.e. - gas-tungsten arc method, gas metal arc process or shielded metal arc technique. Welding processes conducted on the Monel UNS 4400 Spring Steel Bar can be performed by using appropriate filler metals. There is no need for manufacturers to conduct a post weld heat treatment on the Monel Grade 400 Forged Bar. However, thoroughly cleaning the ASTM B164 Alloy 400 Bar is a mandate after welding operations, because it is critical for optimum corrosion resistance. Not cleaning the nickel alloy 400 round bar can otherwise increase the risk of contamination and embrittlement in the metal.
